Information we collect

We collect only what we need to prepare and hand off your bakery pickup order:

• Your first and last name
• Your phone number
• Order information (products, package quantities and prices paid)
• Pickup information (pickup date, pickup time and order status)
• Payment-related transaction information (such as payment status and a confirmation reference from our payment processor)
• Your SMS consent status and the date and time it was provided

We do not ask for special instructions, notes or any other free-form information, and online ordering does not require an account.

How we use your information

Your information is used to accept, prepare, schedule and fulfill your pickup order, to contact you about that order, to process payment, and to keep accurate business records of completed orders.

Mobile information and SMS text messaging

When you check the optional SMS consent box at checkout, we collect your mobile phone number, your consent status, and the date and time you gave consent. We use that information only to send you transactional text messages about your own pickup order — for example an order confirmation and a ready-for-pickup notice. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

• Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per order).
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to opt out of messages at any time.
• Reply HELP for help.
• SMS consent is optional and is not required as a condition of purchasing bakery products.

A messaging service provider processes mobile information only as necessary to deliver Margie’s Bakery & Deli’s transactional messages. Mobile information is not provided to any third party or affiliate for its own marketing or promotional use.

Sharing your information

We do not sell customer personal information. Non-SMS order information is shared only with the service providers that make the ordering experience work — our website and database hosting provider and our payment processor — and only as needed for them to perform those services. We may also disclose information where required by law. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent data are never shared for marketing or promotional purposes.

Payment information

Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Full card numbers are never stored by Margie’s Bakery & Deli; we retain only the transaction details needed to confirm that an order was paid.

Data retention and security

Order records, including notification history, are retained for normal business, accounting and customer-service purposes. Access to order information is limited to authorized Margie’s staff through a password-protected admin area.

Children

The online preorder application is intended for adults placing bakery pickup orders and is not directed to children.

Your choices

You may decline SMS notifications at checkout and still place an order. If you have opted in, reply STOP to any message to stop future texts. To ask a question about your information or request a correction, please contact Margie’s Bakery & Deli directly.
